I've said this to you before, in one form or another, but it bears repeating. You have been an inspiration for me, for longer than I have known of your existence – yes, that last makes sense to me at least, as my first introduction to you was your selection of words to include in “The Fat Damsel”, and I had no idea then if that was collated by an individual or a collective, but the poetry that gifted me was exactly what I needed in that extended moment of emergence of my own voice. A voice torn out after over half a century of silence by burning necessity. Your own words, in all the forms I have experienced them, and even more, hearing you speak them (and I do hear you speak them, your lovely voice with its magical tones and intonation, even reading this piece this morning), have been a source of love and wonder and wisdom and healing in the years since. You truly are a beautiful human, this world *needs* your voice and I'm blessed to have you, even at this distance, as part of my life.
